This Cookie Policy explains how ProductDome (“ProductDome”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on productdome.com, what each category is used for, and how you control them.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, scripts, local storage and session storage. The rules that govern them cover any technology that stores information on your device or reads information already stored there, not only traditional browser cookies. Where the data involved is personal data, ourPrivacy Policy also applies.
Our approach
Only strictly necessary cookies are set before you make a choice. Everything else waits for your consent. A consent banner appears on your first visit with an option to accept, reject or manage the non essential categories, and rejecting is as easy as accepting.
Your choice is stored and applied on later visits. You can change it at any time atcookie settings, and withdrawing consent stops the relevant technologies from being used from that point on.
Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They are exempt from consent because without them the pages you asked for cannot be delivered safely.
- the consent record itself, which stores which categories you accepted and when
- a session cookie that keeps a single visit consistent across page loads
- security cookies set by our hosting and content delivery layer to filter automated abuse and protect the site
- load balancing and routing cookies that send your request to a working server
These are first party or set by our infrastructure provider on our behalf. They do not track you across other websites.
Functional
Functional cookies remember choices you make so the site behaves the way you left it. They are set only if you accept the functional category.
- interface preferences such as list or grid view and sort order
- filters you applied within a category
- region and language preference
- whether you have already dismissed a notice
Refusing this category does not stop you using the site. It means these preferences reset on every visit.
Analytics
Analytics on ProductDome are first party and run on our own infrastructure through DevDome Analytics. They record page views, clicks, engagement time and the country derived from your network address.
The purpose is to understand which pages and categories are read so we know what to write and what to fix. The analytics do not build cross site profiles, do not follow you to other websites, and do not create an advertising identifier. The analytics run in cookieless mode: nothing is stored on your device, no identifier is set, and the measurement cannot be switched off per visitor because there is nothing to switch off. Your choices at cookie settings cover the other categories.
Marketing and affiliate attribution
ProductDome does not run display advertising and does not sell advertising space. The one cookie in this category is an affiliate attribution cookie.
Links to ProductDome from our other sites and from social posts may pass through our redirect at tracking.productdome.com before landing on a ProductDome page. The redirect records the click so we can attribute it to the page it came from and detect invalid or automated traffic. Links to Amazon are plain links on the page itself and are never redirected automatically. It stores the timestamp, the page the click started from, the country, and either a first party cookie identifier or a hashed form of the network address. No sale level data is returned to us. What we receive from the Associates Program is Amazon’s own aggregated affiliate reporting.
This recording happens on every click through the redirect and does not read your cookie choice on this site: the redirect sets its own first-party identifier cookie on tracking.productdome.com for up to the attribution window (90 days by default) and also keeps a hashed form of the network address. Once you click an Amazon link and arrive on Amazon, Amazon sets its own cookies under its own policies, which we neither control nor read.
Email and newsletter
If you subscribe through the newsletter page, our email provider may use a tracking pixel to record whether a message was opened and whether a link in it was clicked. That is measurement of the email, not of your browsing. Every message contains an unsubscribe link, and you can adjust what we send at email settings.
How long cookies last
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them. As a guide:
- session and routing cookies: the current browsing session
- consent record: up to 12 months, after which we ask again
- functional preferences: up to 12 months
- analytics identifier: up to 12 months, with click and view records aggregated after 14 months
- affiliate attribution: up to 30 days, matching the attribution window it exists to serve
Third party services
We keep third party technologies to the minimum the site needs. The services that may set or read information on your device are our hosting and security provider, our own analytics and click attribution infrastructure, and the provider that delivers the newsletter. Amazon sets cookies on amazon.com after you follow a link, under Amazon’s own policies. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
We do not embed social network widgets, advertising networks or data broker tags, and we do not sell or share the data these technologies produce.
Controlling cookies yourself
Besides our own settings page, you can:
- block or delete cookies in your browser settings, for all sites or for this one
- use private browsing, which clears storage when the window closes
- send a global privacy signal, which we treat as a refusal of non essential categories
Blocking strictly necessary cookies can stop parts of the site from working, including the ability to remember that you refused the other categories.
International processing
Our hosting and content delivery run on a global network, so data may be processed outside your own country, including in the United States. Where personal data is involved we rely on the transfer mechanisms our providers make available. This is covered in thePrivacy Policy.
Changes and contact
We may update this Cookie Policy when the technologies we use change. The current version is always on this page with its last updated date. If a new non essential purpose is added, we ask for consent again before using it. Questions go through our Contact Page.
