Privacy Policy

You can browse the whole of ProductDome without an account. You give us information only when you:

• submit your email address through the newsletter form, in which case we store the address, the date of signup and a record of your consent
• send us a message through the Contact Page, in which case we store the message and whatever contact details you include so we can reply
• set a cookie preference in the consent banner or at cookie settings, which is stored on your device as a record of your choice
• change your email preferences at email settings, which updates the record attached to your address

We do not ask for payment details, identity documents, health data, or any other special category of personal information, and we ask that you do not send such information to us.

When you open a page, the following is recorded:

• the page address and the referring page
• the date and time of the request
• the country derived from your network address
• browser and device type, screen size and language
• engagement signals such as time on page, scroll depth and clicks on outbound links
• technical request data kept by our hosting and security layer, including network address, for abuse prevention and debugging

Analytics on ProductDome are first party. We run DevDome Analytics, which stores page views, clicks, engagement time and country. It does not build cross site profiles, does not follow you to other websites, and does not create or sell an advertising identifier.

We use the information described above to:

• serve the pages you request and keep them working correctly
• measure which pages and categories are read, so we know what to write next
• attribute outbound clicks to the page that produced them
• detect and prevent fraud, automated abuse and click manipulation
• send the newsletter, if you asked for it, and apply your email preferences
• answer messages you send us
• meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal effects, and we do not profile you for third party advertising.

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on the following:

• consent, for non essential cookies, for analytics where consent is required, and for the newsletter
• legitimate interests, for keeping the site available and secure, preventing fraud, and understanding in aggregate how the site is used
• legal obligation, where we must retain or disclose information under applicable law

Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time, through the cookie settings page, the unsubscribe link in any email, or the email settings page. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Outbound product links on ProductDome go to Amazon. Some of them pass through our own tracking redirect at tracking.productdome.com. That redirect records the click so we can attribute it to the page it came from and detect invalid traffic. The record contains the timestamp, the page the click started from, the country, and either a first party cookie identifier or a hashed form of the network address. To recognise a repeat visit, the redirect may also use a random identifier kept in your browser’s local storage and a hashed summary of basic browser and device settings (screen size, language, time zone). These are device identifiers: we store them only in hashed form, use them only to tell a new visit from a repeat one, keep them for at most a year, and never sell or share them.

The redirect does not read your Amazon account, your basket, or anything you do after you arrive on Amazon. No sale level data is shared back with us. What we receive from the Associates Program is Amazon’s own aggregated affiliate reporting.

Once you follow a link to Amazon, Amazon’s privacy notice and cookie practices apply to that visit, not ours. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

We use strictly necessary cookies, functional cookies, first party analytics cookies and an affiliate attribution cookie. A consent banner appears on your first visit, and you can change your choices at any time at cookie settings. Non essential cookies are not set before you give consent. We share information only with service providers acting on our instructions:

• hosting, content delivery and security providers who serve the pages
• our own analytics and click attribution infrastructure
• the email provider that delivers the newsletter
• professional advisers, courts or regulators, where the law requires disclosure

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioural advertising. If that ever changed we would give notice and an opt out before it happened.

ProductDome is served through Cloudflare’s global network, and affiliate links lead to Amazon’s own infrastructure. Your information may therefore be processed in a country other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where personal data leaves a region that restricts transfers, we rely on the transfer mechanisms our providers make available, such as standard contractual clauses.

• analytics and click records: kept in identifiable form for up to 14 months, then aggregated
• newsletter records: kept until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so that we do not email you again
• contact messages: kept for up to 24 months after the matter is closed
• security and abuse logs: kept for a short operational period, normally under 90 days

Where a longer period is required by law or to defend a legal claim, we keep the minimum needed for that purpose and delete the rest.

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and the UK GDPR, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent.

Under California law you may request to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the sources, the purposes and the categories of recipients, request deletion or correction, and opt out of any sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.

You can opt out of analytics at any time through cookie settings. To make any other request, use the Contact Page. We answer within the period the applicable law allows, and we may ask for information that lets us locate your records. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

ProductDome is not directed to children and is not designed for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We use access controls, encryption in transit, and a limited set of vetted providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we also keep the amount of personal information we hold as small as the Services allow.

Pages on ProductDome link to Amazon and occasionally to other external sites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their notices before giving them information.

We may update this Privacy Policy. The revised version is posted here with a new last updated date, and material changes are noted on the page. Questions and privacy requests go through ourContact Page.
