Overview
Berkley's BTCOY2 is a 1.8 ounce tub of PowerBait Trout Dough Bait in yellow, a scented, moldable attractant built specifically to draw trout to the hook.
PowerBait dough bait is Berkley's scented, moldable bait designed to be pinched onto a hook rather than fished as a hard lure, relying on scent and flavor to draw trout rather than visual action.
- 1.8 ounce pack
- PowerBait dough bait
- Trout target species
- Yellow color
Who it's for
Trout anglers, especially those still fishing bait on the bottom or under a bobber in stocked lakes and ponds. Not intended for anglers targeting bass, saltwater species, or other techniques where a scented dough bait is not the standard approach.
Pros and cons
- Moldable dough rigs straight onto a hook
- Scent formula is purpose built for trout
- Compact 1.8 ounce pack is easy to carry
- Single species target, not useful outside trout fishing
- 1.8 ounces will not last a full season
Performance notes
The dough consistency lets anglers mold it around a hook so it stays put while slowly releasing scent into the water, which is the main way PowerBait draws strikes rather than visual movement. At 1.8 ounces, one pack covers a moderate number of hook baitings before it runs out.
