Overview
Filed under Tools as a chisel, the Shop D2674 lists cast iron construction and a 2.37 kilogram weight, close to 5.2 pounds.
A 5-plus pound cast iron chisel is heavier and made from a different material than the steel hand chisels typically used for woodworking, which suggests this may be a specialty or shop fixture item rather than a hand tool for paring wood. With no other specs or description text available, buyers should check the listing photos to confirm exactly what type of chisel this is before ordering.
- Material listed as cast iron
- Weighs 2.37 kilograms, about 5.2 pounds
- Model D2674, Shop brand
Who it's for
Suited to a buyer who has already seen the product photos and confirmed this matches the specific cast iron chisel or fixture they need, not a safe blind buy for someone expecting a standard lightweight woodworking chisel
Pros and cons
- Cast iron construction listed
- Weight and material are unusual for a standard hand chisel, so exact use is unclear
- No purchases recorded in the past month
- No description text to confirm intended use
Performance notes
At 2.37 kilograms and cast iron construction, this tool is far heavier than a typical paring or bench chisel, which usually runs a few ounces to under a pound in tempered steel. That weight and material combination points toward a specialty or fixed shop item rather than a handheld carving tool, though the listing gives no further detail to confirm its exact use.
