Overview
A 30 meter spool of VARIVAS fluorocarbon fishing line rated to 50 pound test (listed as size 50 lb, #14), in a natural clear color.
Fluorocarbon line sinks faster than nylon monofilament and bends light closer to how water does, which is why anglers reach for it on leaders where visibility to fish matters. At 50 pound test on a 30 meter spool, this reads as leader material rather than a full main-line spool.
- 50 lb test (#14) rating
- 30 meter spool length
- Natural clear color
- Fluorocarbon line type
Who it's for
Anglers who want a heavy, low-visibility fluorocarbon leader at 50 pound test. Not for anglers needing a long main-line spool, since this one runs 30 meters.
Pros and cons
- 50 pound test for heavy leader use
- Natural clear finish for low visibility
- Fluorocarbon construction sinks faster than mono
- 30 meter spool is short for use as a main line
- Single pound-test option in this listing
Performance notes
Fluorocarbon's density lets it sink faster than mono, and its refractive index sits closer to water, which is what the natural clear finish here is built to take advantage of on a leader.
