Overview
Gates makes this T265 as a black rubber timing belt, with the length and width given on the listing. It is described as heat and wear resistant, with wide coverage of import and domestic vehicles.
A stated size and a replacement number list make this easier to check than a part with only a name. Tooth count and vehicle application are still absent.
Who it's for
For maintenance on a vehicle whose original belt number is on the replacement list. If you only know your car's name, check an application guide first.
Pros and cons
- Length and width are listed
- Long cross reference list
- Black rubber construction
- Vehicle application not listed
- Tooth count not given
- Warranty text is generic
Performance notes
The belt connects crankshaft and camshaft so valve timing stays correct, so the right length and tooth profile matter. Rubber construction is described as resistant to heat and wear.
