Overview
Zebco's 300225 spool holds 190 yards of clear monofilament rated at 25 pound test, weighing under a tenth of a kilogram and built for the brand's spincast and spinning reel lineup.
Monofilament remains the standard choice for Zebco's spincast and closed face reel lineup, and this 25 pound spool is sized for the medium to heavy end of freshwater mono fishing rather than light finesse work.
- 190 yard spool
- 25 pound test
- Clear monofilament
- About 3 ounces (0.09 kg)
Who it's for
Anglers who want a straightforward, stretchy monofilament for general freshwater fishing, especially with spincast or closed face reels where mono's forgiving nature helps prevent break offs. Not suited to anglers chasing the low stretch and sensitivity of fluorocarbon or braid.
Pros and cons
- 25 pound test suits medium to heavy freshwater fishing
- Clear color works in most water conditions
- Stretch helps absorb hook set shock
- More stretch than fluoro or braid, less sensitivity
- 190 yards is modest for larger reels
Performance notes
Monofilament's inherent stretch absorbs sudden strikes and hook sets, which suits beginner friendly reels and forgives light drag settings. At 25 pounds and clear color, this spool is built for durability and value rather than minimal diameter.
