Overview
This spool carries 350 yards of 4 lb test copolymer line in green, sold as the Trout 87665 and marked in the special field as part of the Trout Magnet SOS line. Copolymer construction sits between traditional monofilament and fluorocarbon, aimed at light finesse presentations.
At 4 lb test this line is built for small baits and light line techniques rather than general purpose casting, which lines up with the Trout Magnet naming even though the category listing files it under mono lines. The 350 yard spool gives enough length to respool a couple of light spinning reels rather than a single fill.
- 350 yards / 1050 feet per spool
- 4 lb test copolymer line
- Green color for low visibility
- Part of the Trout Magnet SOS line
Who it's for
Anglers running light finesse rigs for trout, panfish or similar light biting species who need thin, low visibility line. Not suited to anyone targeting fish or cover that call for heavier test line.
Pros and cons
- 350 yards is enough to respool multiple reels
- 4 lb test suits light finesse presentations
- Thin diameter for low visibility
- 4 lb test will not handle heavy cover or large fish
Performance notes
Copolymer line generally casts thinner and sinks a bit faster than standard monofilament at the same test, which helps small baits get down without added weight. At 4 lb test the line favors light spinning reels and small hooks, and its thin diameter also means less resistance to abrasion than a heavier line would offer.
