Overview
Pruning high in a tree or along a trail is the setting for this folding Silky saw. It has a flat serrated high carbon steel blade with large teeth and an aluminum handle with a rubber coating, and it folds away when not in use.
Low weight and a folding blade make it easy to carry on a belt or in a pack. The listing gives no maximum branch size and does not mention a sheath or locking details.
Who it's for
Backcountry trimming, orchard work and general garden pruning suit a compact folding design. Heavy timber cutting calls for a larger saw.
Pros and cons
- Folding design for carry
- Large teeth cut fast
- Rubber-coated aluminum handle
- Maximum branch size not listed
- Locking mechanism not described
- Recommended for wood only
Performance notes
Coarse teeth remove wood in large chips, so the cut moves quickly. A flat blade is stiff for its length, and the handle's rubber coating gives grip with wet or gloved hands.
