Overview
The Proxxon 38544 is a corded electric grinder running on standard 120-volt household power, with a 100 watt motor spinning at 13,000 RPM. Proxxon specializes in compact precision tools, and this power level points to light-duty grinding and finishing work rather than heavy metal removal.
A 100 watt motor is modest next to full-size angle grinders, which often run several hundred watts. Combined with the high 13,000 RPM speed, this suggests a tool built for detail work and controlled finishing passes rather than stripping paint or grinding welds.
- Power source: Corded electric
- Voltage: 120V
- Speed: 13,000 RPM
- Motor power: 100 watts
Who it's for
Fits hobbyists and modelers doing fine grinding, deburring, or polishing on small parts. Less suited to anyone needing to remove heavy material or grind on large workpieces.
Pros and cons
- High 13,000 RPM for fine detail work
- Corded, no battery to manage or recharge
- Compact footprint typical of Proxxon tools
- Only 100 watts, not suited to heavy grinding
- No weight or dimension specs listed
Performance notes
High RPM paired with low wattage typically means the tool spins fast but has limited torque under load, so it excels at light passes with small accessories and bogs down if pushed into heavier material.
