Overview
Starwest Botanicals sells whole milk thistle seed in a 1 lb bulk bag for steeping as tea or grinding into cooking, smoothies, oatmeal and yogurt. It is kosher certified and non-GMO, sold as a raw ingredient rather than a capsule or extract.
This is whole seed, not a milled powder or standardized extract, so buyers wanting a measured daily dose in capsule form should look elsewhere. It suits using the seed as a cooking or tea ingredient rather than a clinical supplement.
- 1 lb (16 oz) bulk bag of whole seed
- Kosher certified
- Non-GMO
- Suited to tea, cooking, and mixing into food
Who it's for
Fits people who brew their own milk thistle tea or add ground seed to food and prefer buying in bulk over single-serving capsules. Not for someone wanting a standardized silymarin extract or a pre-measured daily dose.
Pros and cons
- Bulk 1 lb size for regular tea or cooking use
- Kosher certified and non-GMO
- Whole seed works across tea, smoothies, and yogurt
- No standardized extract or capsule dose
- Requires grinding or steeping, not ready to swallow
Performance notes
As whole seed, milk thistle needs to be crushed or ground to release its contents whether steeped for tea or stirred into food; the listing data does not include an extract ratio or standardized silymarin content.
