Overview
Walking with a traditional Irish blackthorn look no longer means caring for real wood: Cold Steel molds this stick from high impact polypropylene copied from an original bush. The shaft tapers toward the base and ends in a broad head at the top.
Durability earns it a place by the door, since the polypropylene will not warp, crack or splinter the way natural wood can. Its length is fixed and no tip is described, so fit and grip on wet floors are unknowns.
Who it's for
Everyday walks, hikes and collectors of traditional Irish sticks are the setting for this one. People who need a custom length or an adjustable shaft should choose something else.
Pros and cons
- Will not warp, crack or splinter
- Cleans with soap and water
- Traditional blackthorn shape, molded detail
- High impact polypropylene build
- Fixed length, no adjustment
- Rubber tip not listed
- Warranty excludes misuse and normal wear
Performance notes
Stability comes from a rigid polymer that does not swell or flex with moisture, so the stick behaves the same in wet or dry weather. Because length cannot change, how well it supports a stride depends on the user's height matching the fixed shaft.
