Overview
TRUGLO's TG8504BR is a 4x32mm compact riflescope with an aircraft-grade aluminum tube, duplex reticle and a 3/8-inch dovetail-style mount, built for rimfire rifles and air rifles rather than long-range centerfire use.
The compact body is the point here: several owners chose it specifically because it doesn't visually overwhelm a short-receiver rifle like a lever-action .22 or a Ruger Mini-14. The included mount is a 3/8-inch dovetail rather than a standard Picatinny rail, which fits common rimfire actions but is worth checking against your rifle's rail type before ordering.
- 4x32mm compact aircraft-grade aluminum tube
- Duplex reticle with fully coated lenses
- 3/8-inch dovetail mount included
- Waterproof and fogproof construction
Who it's for
Owners of rimfire rifles, air rifles or pellet guns who want a low, compact 4x scope that clears iron sights on a short action. Not a fit for anyone needing a Picatinny-rail mount out of the box or expecting centerfire-grade turret precision.
Pros and cons
- Compact size clears iron sights and bolt handles on short rimfire actions
- Clear, bright sight picture reported even at close range
- Duplex reticle and coated lenses aid low-light visibility
- Waterproof, fogproof aluminum tube construction
Performance notes
The duplex reticle and fully coated lenses are what several owners credit for a clear, bright sight picture even at the low end of the price range. The aluminum tube is built waterproof and fogproof, but the bundled mounting rings are the part owners most often replace.

A 3/8-inch dovetail-style mount, which fits common rimfire and air rifle rail systems rather than a standard Picatinny rail.
Are the included scope rings good quality?
