Overview
The BSA Sweet 17 SP is a 6-18x40mm rifle scope calibrated specifically for the .17 HMR, with side parallax adjustment and an elevation turret set for 17 and 20 grain loads.
Rather than a general-purpose scope, this one is built around one cartridge, with the turret markings matched to .17 HMR ballistics instead of generic MOA clicks.
- 6-18x40mm magnification range
- 30/30 duplex reticle
- Calibrated turret for 17gr and 20gr .17 HMR
- Waterproof, shockproof, fogproof
Who it's for
Suited to .17 HMR shooters who want a scope calibrated to their round rather than a universal reticle. Less of a fit for anyone who needs multiple rifle calibers on one scope, since the turret is matched to one cartridge.
Pros and cons
- Turret calibrated specifically for .17 HMR loads
- Side parallax adjustable from 10 yards to infinity
- Includes a sunshade
- Included rings are lower quality than scope
- Zoom ring doesn't fully reach stops at 6x/18x
- One reported unit with elevation adjustment that didn't work
Performance notes
Side parallax adjustment runs from 10 yards to infinity, letting you dial out parallax error at typical varmint ranges instead of a fixed factory setting.
