Overview
A teacher running early childhood or Kindermusik lessons gets a child-friendly glockenspiel here from Sonor. The bars run in a single row, the edges are rounded, and holders for the mallets are built into the instrument.
Rounded edges and mallet holders make it easy to hand to small children and put away again after class. The bag adds a carrying handle and an inside strap that secures the instrument. The limit is the range: one row only, with a few extra notes beyond the main scale.
Who it's for
A Kindermusik class or a nursery music corner needs something simple, rounded and easy to carry. A serious percussion student who needs a wider range or two rows of bars will outgrow it quickly.
Pros and cons
- Rounded edges for young hands
- Built-in mallet holders
- Bag with carry handle
- Velcro strap secures instrument
- Single row limits the range
- Mallets not confirmed in the listing
- Bar material not stated
- Pitch range in octaves unlisted
Performance notes
A single row of bars arranged in a C major scale lets children play melodies without the added bars of a chromatic layout. The extra F sharp and B flat open up a few more keys for simple songs. Sound depends on the bar material and mallets, neither of which the listing details.
