Overview
A first-time launcher gets a factory-assembled rocket with a blended blue body tube and reflective chrome-blue fins and nose cone. The set adds a launch pad with launch rod and an Electron Beam Launch Controller. A colorful parachute handles the return.
No building is required, so the time from box to launch is short. Engines and the controller's batteries are not included, and the listing says the set holds almost everything needed rather than everything.
Who it's for
Young launchers with an adult nearby, and families after a quick first flight day, get the rocket and launch gear in one set. Hobbyists who want a build project, or who want engines included, should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Factory assembled, no building
- Launch pad and controller included
- Shiny chrome-blue finish
- Preassembled parachute for recovery
- Engines sold separately
- Batteries for controller sold separately
- Starters and wadding not listed
- Fixed finish, no custom paint work
Performance notes
A standard Estes engine drives the rocket to its quoted height, and the parachute opens to bring it down gently. The aerodynamic body and fins steady the climb. The controller fires the engine by push button from a distance.
