Nalgene Silo Water Bottle

Overview

Not a slim bike bottle, the Nalgene Silo is a large capacity wide mouth bottle with an oval body. It holds a lot of water for hikes, camp and travel while weighing very little empty.

Capacity in a light bottle is why to choose it, cutting down on refills between water sources. The listing does not name the plastic or mention BPA, and it must be washed by hand.

Who it's for

Hikers, campers and travelers who want to carry a day's water in one container will use the capacity. People who clean bottles in the dishwasher should choose another model.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

A wide mouth makes it easy to add ice, fill from a stream with a filter or scrub inside. The oval shape changes how it fits in pack pockets compared with a round bottle. Without insulation, contents warm to outside temperature.
