Overview
Purina Cat Chow Naturals is a dry kibble for cats of all life stages, made with real chicken and salmon and formulated without artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. The 13 lb bag targets hairball control and weight management alongside general nutrition.
This sits in Purina's mainstream Cat Chow line rather than a premium or prescription tier, even though the listing carries a Veterinary Diet diet-type tag. Nothing in the ingredient or benefit claims points to a prescription formula, so treat that field as a data artifact rather than a vet-only product. It is a natural, gluten-free kibble built for everyday feeding rather than a therapeutic diet.
- 13 lb bag, chicken and salmon flavor
- Gluten-free, no artificial preservatives
- Hairball control and weight management claims
- All life stages formula
Who it's for
Suits owners feeding one or more adult cats who want a natural formula with hairball and weight support in a large bag. Not aimed at cats on a vet-prescribed diet requiring a specific therapeutic recipe.
Pros and cons
- Natural formula with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives
- Covers hairball control and weight management in one bag
- All life stages formula simplifies feeding multiple cats
- All life stages formulas are a compromise versus an age-specific diet
- Bag size may be excessive for single-cat households
Performance notes
The formula pairs chicken and salmon protein with added vitamins and minerals, and Purina positions the hairball and weight benefits through fiber and nutrient balance rather than a single additive. Because it is an all life stages formula, it is built to a nutrient range that covers kittens through seniors rather than being optimized for one age group.
