Banana Boat Summer Color Self-Tanning Lotion 6 oz

Overview

Banana Boat's self-tanning lotion comes in a light to medium shade meant to work across skin tones, packaged as a 6 ounce tube.

This is a self-tanner rather than a sunscreen, built to gradually deposit color rather than protect from UV, and the light/medium shade positions it for a subtle rather than deep tan result. It's listed as oil-free, which matters for anyone prone to breakouts from tanning products.

• Light/medium self-tan shade
• Oil-free lotion
• 6 ounce tube
• Marketed for all skin tones

Who it's for

Suits anyone wanting a light to medium self-tan without sun exposure, applied at home from a tube. Not the pick for those wanting a deep, dark tan result or a spray format.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Self-tanning lotions like this rely on DHA reacting with amino acids in the skin's surface layer to darken it temporarily, which is why even application and exfoliating beforehand affect how even the result looks. Being oil-free can help the lotion absorb without leaving a greasy residue during application.
