Accurate against digital probes in reviewer comparisons, but the color-coded dial is prone to fading with repeated high-heat use.

Overview
A dial-style grill surface thermometer from CDN, model GTS800X, NSF certified, that reads 100 to 800F directly off the cooking surface rather than the ambient temperature inside a grill hood.
- Reads 100 to 800F surface temperature
- NSF certified
- Laboratory glass lens over a color-coded dial
- Sits directly on grill, griddle or pan surface
Who it's for
Grillers and griddle cooks who want to check actual cooking-surface temperature rather than relying on a lid-mounted dome thermometer. Less suited to anyone who wants a dial face that holds up over years of high heat.
Pros and cons
- Reads actual cooking-surface temperature, not just hood air
- Color-coded scale is easy to check at a glance
- Readings track closely with digital probe thermometers in reviewer tests
