Overview
A 5/8 inch bench chisel from Woodstock, sold individually rather than as part of a set. It weighs about a pound and suits woodworkers filling a gap in an existing chisel roll.
Woodstock International sells woodworking machinery and hand tools under several names, and this listing covers just the 5/8 inch chisel rather than a boxed set. Buyers filling a gap in a roll or rack, rather than starting from zero, are the ones this fits.
- 5/8 inch chisel width
- About 1 pound
- Sold as a single piece
- Woodstock brand
Who it's for
Woodworkers who already own chisels in other widths and need the 5/8 inch size specifically. Not a fit for someone wanting a complete chisel set in one purchase, since this is a single tool.
Pros and cons
- Specific 5/8 inch width for matching existing sets
- Sold individually, not bundled with other chisels
- Building a full range needs multiple purchases
- No handle or blade material specified
Performance notes
At around 5/8 inch wide and roughly a pound, it sits in the mid-range of common bench chisel sizes, suited to general paring and light mortise work rather than heavy chopping.
