Overview
Uncoated phosphor bronze strings make up the Ernie Ball Super Slinky acoustic set, sold here as two packs. The light gauge spread pairs easier fretting on the trebles with heavier wound strings for the bass side.
Two sets in one order means a spare ready for the next change. With no coating, the strings feel natural but corrode sooner under sweaty hands.
Who it's for
Steel-string acoustic players who want a familiar light set and a spare get two packs. Nylon-string players need a different product entirely.
Pros and cons
- Two full packs per order
- Phosphor bronze for a warm tone
- Light gauge eases fretting
- Made in USA
- Uncoated, so tone dulls sooner
- For steel-string acoustics only
Performance notes
Phosphor bronze adds warmth and sustain to the wound strings, while the lighter treble gauges reduce finger pressure. Without a coating, sweat and oils dull the tone faster, so string life depends on how often you wipe them down.
