Overview
Boiling water in clear German Schott glass, the Breville kettle lets you watch it heat while a soft-opening lid releases steam slowly to avoid splashes. A button on the handle opens the lid, and it shuts off when boiled or dry.
Visibility and safety are the selling points: you can see the water level and boil, and the lid opens gently. Glass shows scale and needs regular cleaning to stay clear.
Who it's for
Tea and pour-over drinkers who boil often get a clear kettle with gentle steam release. Those who need exact temperatures for green tea should choose a variable temperature model.
Pros and cons
- Clear glass shows water level
- Soft opening lid limits splashes
- Auto shut off and boil dry protection
- Lid release button on handle
- Warranty conflicts in listing
- Glass shows scale buildup
Performance notes
Boil speed comes from the high wattage element, and the glass body lets you see when to stop filling. The slow-release lid lets steam vent gradually, which stops hot water spitting when it opens.
