Overview
An aluminum frame and stainless steel hardware make up this harbour trailer, which carries a small boat over hard ground. A buckle fastener secures the load, and the unit is listed as a single piece.
Aluminum construction resists corrosion around salt water, which is the reason to look at it for a dock or slipway. The listing offers no wheel or tire details, and the capacity is modest compared with road trailers.
Who it's for
Owners of small dinghies and light boats who launch from a slipway will find the aluminum build practical. Larger boats, highway towing or lights and registration needs call for a full road trailer.
Pros and cons
- Aluminum frame resists corrosion
- Stainless steel hardware
- Buckle fastener for the load
- Single piece unit
- Wheel and tire details not listed
- Hitch type not listed
- Boat length limit not listed
- Not described as road legal
Performance notes
Aluminum and stainless steel hold up to damp conditions better than painted steel. The load rating governs which boats it can carry, and the fastener holds the boat against shifting while rolling. The listing gives no data on wheel type or ground clearance.
