Overview
Not a small soprano uke, the Lanikai baritone is the largest common ukulele size, with an okoume top, back and sides and a wide, comfortable neck. A truss rod lets you adjust the neck, and NuBone XB parts support sustain.
Fuller, deeper tone and a comfortable wide neck make it a good step up for players with larger hands. The listing does not say which tuning it ships in, which matters for baritone ukes.
Who it's for
Guitar players crossing over and uke players wanting more low end will feel at home on the larger body. Fans of the classic bright uke sound should choose a smaller size.
Pros and cons
- Deeper baritone voice
- Adjustable truss rod
- Wide, comfortable neck
- Strap buttons fitted
- Tuning not stated
- No electronics listed
- Scale length not listed
Performance notes
Tone comes from the larger baritone body and okoume wood, which give a warm, fuller sound than smaller ukes. The scarf joint and NuBone XB parts help sustain, and the truss rod holds the neck straight as humidity changes.
