Overview
Brewing a strong, dark cup is the aim of this ground blend from Death Wish Coffee. The Valhalla Java blend mixes Arabica and Robusta beans and is certified organic and Fair Trade USA. It comes in a bag with a low sweetness profile.
Strength is the reason to choose it, backed by its certifications and an allergen-free statement. The limitation is flavor loss once opened, since the coffee is pre-ground. Sourcing varies with crop yields, so no country is named.
Who it's for
A home brewer who likes intense dark coffee and does not own a grinder can use the bag directly. Someone sensitive to caffeine or looking for a gentle roast should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Organic and Fair Trade USA
- High caffeine blend
- Gluten free and vegan
- Pre-ground for convenience
- Brew method not listed
- Pre-ground, flavor fades faster
- Origin varies by crop
Performance notes
Robusta adds caffeine and body, and the dark roast brings a bold, low-sweetness cup. Ground coffee exposes more surface to air, so keep the bag sealed. Match the brewer to the grind, since the listing gives no grind size.
