Overview
At 14 inches and 2.3 pounds, the Olympia 39-114 is a chrome-moly cutter sized for occasional bolt or wire work. Its compact length and alloy jaws keep it light enough to store in a toolbox.
Chrome-moly holds up well against chipping when cutting hardened wire or bolts, which is likely why Olympia chose it here. At 14 inches and 2.3 pounds this sits on the lighter, more portable end of the cutter category rather than a heavy two hand bolt cutter, trading some leverage for ease of storage and carry.
- 14 inch overall length
- Chrome-moly construction
- 2.3 pound weight
- Compact enough for a toolbox
Who it's for
Homeowners and general maintenance users who need an occasional bolt or wire cutter will find this easy to keep on hand. Daily heavy gauge cutting calls for a longer, heavier tool instead.
Pros and cons
- Chrome-moly jaws for hardened material
- Light at 2.3 pounds
- Shorter length limits leverage on thick stock
Performance notes
Chrome-moly jaws resist chipping when cutting hardened bolts or cable, and the 14 inch length gives moderate leverage while keeping total weight to 2.3 pounds. That balance favors portability over maximum cutting force.
