Overview
The Klein D20009NEGLW is a plier weighing 1.1 pounds with plastic-dipped handles. Klein Tools is a longtime maker of electrician and lineman hand tools, and this D2000 series model is built for gripping and cutting wire.
Klein's D2000 series covers lineman's pliers used for gripping, twisting and cutting wire on the job, and the plastic handle covering here is for grip comfort rather than a stated insulation or voltage rating. At 1.1 pounds it sits in the standard weight range for a full-size lineman's plier rather than a compact model.
- 1.1 pound weight
- Plastic handle covering
- Klein D2000 series plier
- Gripping and cutting lineman-style design
Who it's for
Fits electricians and linemen needing a full-size gripping and cutting plier. Not a fit for anyone requiring an insulated, voltage-rated tool, since that is not confirmed here.
Pros and cons
- Full-size 1.1 pound lineman's plier
- Plastic-dipped handles for grip
- From an established electrician tool brand
- No insulation voltage rating specified
- Jaw and cutting capacity not detailed
Performance notes
At 1.1 pounds, the plier has enough heft for repeated wire cutting and gripping without becoming tiring over a shift, and the plastic handle covering adds grip during wet or greasy work. No insulation voltage rating is stated, so it should not be treated as rated for live electrical work without confirming that separately.
