Overview
Davis Tearless Pet Shampoo is a 12 oz soap-free, fresh-scented liquid shampoo formulated for both dogs and cats, built for gentle tearless cleansing that works around the face and eyes.
Davis Manufacturing sells this shampoo primarily through professional grooming channels, so the tearless formula and dual-species labeling reflect a working-groomer product rather than a pet-store impulse buy. It ranks inside the top 300 dog shampoos on Amazon, and demand ties to this 12 oz size rather than a larger economy bottle other Davis lines carry.
- 12 fl oz tearless shampoo
- Soap-free, moisturizing formula
- Labeled for dogs and cats
- Fresh scent
Who it's for
Works for owners bathing dogs or cats at home who want a face-safe formula. Groomers running a full-service tub will likely find the 12 oz bottle too small for volume use.
Pros and cons
- Soap-free formula safe near eyes
- Works on both dogs and cats
- Fresh scent without a heavy fragrance load
- 12 oz bottle is small for frequent bathing
- No medicated or flea-control function
Performance notes
The soap-free base is the operative detail: soap-based shampoos are more likely to sting eyes and strip natural oils, so a soap-free tearless formula lets you wash around the head and face with less risk of irritation. The moisturizing claim points to a formula meant to counter dry skin rather than treat a specific skin condition.
