Overview
Not an electric multicooker, the Hawkins Futura is a stovetop pressure cooker with an inner lid that seals from inside the rim. A double-thick base suits induction and gas, and rounded sides make stirring and serving easy.
Rounded sides and a wide view inside make it easier to cook and serve than tall, narrow pressure cookers. Small capacity limits it to smaller households.
Who it's for
Small families and couples get quick pressure cooking with an induction-ready base. Larger households need a bigger cooker.
Pros and cons
- Induction-ready double-thick base
- Rounded sides for stirring
- Hard anodized for faster heating
- Stay cool handles
- Included parts not listed
- Description and bullets disagree on stoves
Performance notes
Pressure raises the boiling point inside the sealed pot, so food cooks faster than in an open pan. The thick, flat base spreads heat evenly, and hard anodizing absorbs heat quickly.
