Overview
Freshpet's Roasted Meals Tender Chicken recipe is a refrigerated wet dog food sold in a 1.75 lb bag, made with chicken plus carrots and spinach rather than a shelf-stable kibble or can.
It ships and stores like fresh meat rather than a dry good, which the brand markets as fresh from the fridge, so it needs refrigeration at home rather than pantry storage. The recipe carries no added antibiotics, no added hormones, and no artificial colors or flavors per the listed ingredient claims. It's positioned for everyday adult feeding rather than as a treat or topper.
- Refrigerated wet dog food
- Chicken with carrots and spinach
- No artificial colors or flavors
- 1.75 lb bag for adult dogs
Who it's for
Fits owners already feeding refrigerated or fresh style dog food who want a chicken and vegetable recipe, and who have fridge space to dedicate to it. Owners who want a shelf-stable food they can stockpile should look elsewhere, since this requires cold storage.
Pros and cons
- Chicken with real vegetables (carrots, spinach)
- No added antibiotics or hormones
- Requires refrigeration, not shelf-stable
- Smaller 1.75 lb size means frequent repurchase for larger dogs
Performance notes
As a wet, refrigerated recipe it's formulated closer to fresh meat than a shelf-stable kibble, with carrots and spinach listed as special ingredients alongside the chicken base. The brand's benefit claims cover weight maintenance, coat condition, and digestive support, though these are seller claims rather than independent test results.
