Overview
Pulling a boat up onto a trailer is the job of this electric winch, which powers in and free-wheels out. A remote controls it, a wiring harness is included, and a pulley block can double the pulling power.
Remote operation and a double-line option are the reasons to choose it for heavier boats. The double line option slows retrieval, and the description mixes figures for the winch family, so check the limits for this model.
Who it's for
Owners of mid-size boats who launch and retrieve often will use the power-in and the free-wheel out. Anyone lifting loads vertically should not use it, since the description says it is not a hoist.
Pros and cons
- Remote power-in operation
- Wiring harness included
- Pulley block for double line
- Two year limited warranty
- Boat limits stated inconsistently
- Double line slows retrieval
- Not a hoist
- Battery size not listed
Performance notes
Using the pulley block doubles the pulling power but cuts retrieval speed by half. Free-wheeling lets the line pay out quickly when launching. Power draw depends on the load and the battery, which the listing does not detail.
