Overview
The AFUNTA LCD-Scale is a compact digital hanging scale, built from ABS plastic, weighing about 0.1kg itself, with an LCD readout for weighing catch or gear.
Digital hanging scales like this one are meant to be quick and portable rather than lab accurate, hooked through a fish's lip or a gaff eye and read off an LCD screen instead of a dial, which is easier to read in low light than an analog spring scale.
- LCD digital readout
- ABS plastic housing
- About 0.1kg unit weight
- Hanging scale design
Who it's for
Anglers who want a light, packable scale to weigh catch boatside or at the dock. Not for anyone needing certified accuracy for tournament weigh-ins, which typically require a calibrated station scale.
Pros and cons
- LCD display is easier to read than an analog dial
- Lightweight plastic housing packs easily
- Simple hook-and-hang operation
- Plastic construction is less rugged than metal-bodied scales
- Not built for certified tournament accuracy
Performance notes
The plastic housing keeps the unit light for a tackle box, though ABS construction is less rugged than a metal-bodied scale if dropped on a hard deck.
