Overview
Neither a toy-packed activity center nor a plain walker, the Joovy Spoon is a seated walker with a big tray that also works for snacks. A wide base and rubber stair pads add stability.
The large tray covers meals and drawing, so one product does duty near the kitchen. Babies who want lights and music will find the tray empty, since no toys come with it.
Who it's for
Busy kitchens and homes with stairs benefit from stair pads and a tray with room for food. Parents shopping for an entertainer with music should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Stair pads help stop falls
- Seat pad is machine washable
- Tray insert goes in the dishwasher
- Folds flat for storage
- No toys included
- Large footprint when open
- Heavier than lighter walkers listed
Performance notes
Stability comes from the wide base, which also holds the tray edge away from walls so fingers are not pinched. Rubber pads grip at stair edges, stopping the frame from rolling over a drop.
