SVS Prime Satellite Speakers Pair

Overview

A pair of compact satellite speakers from SVS, finished in piano gloss black, built around a 1 inch aluminum dome tweeter and a 4.5 inch woofer. Designed to mount on a wall or ceiling, or sit on a stand, as surrounds, height channels or a small stereo pair, and to blend with the rest of the SVS Prime and Ultra lineup.

SVS carries driver engineering from its higher end Ultra Series into this smaller cabinet, including an aluminum shorting ring on the woofer and a two way crossover tuned for smooth blending between drivers. The tradeoff of a compact 4.5 inch woofer is limited low end, so this pair is built to pair with a subwoofer rather than run as a standalone full range speaker.

• 1 inch aluminum dome tweeter with FEA optimized diffuser
• 4.5 inch woofer with aluminum shorting ring and vented voice coil former
• Two way SoundMatch crossover for driver blending
• Wall or ceiling mountable, piano gloss black finish

Who it's for

Home theater owners who need small, mountable surrounds or Atmos height channels, or anyone building a modular SVS system and wanting matching satellites. Less suited to someone who wants one pair of speakers to cover full range duty alone.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

The aluminum dome tweeter uses an FEA optimized diffuser aimed at extended, clean highs, while the 4.5 inch woofer's vented voice coil former and cast ABS fiberglass basket are meant to hold down distortion and keep driver alignment precise. A two way crossover blends the pair, which owners describe as producing clear mids and highs with no audible gap between tweeter and woofer.
