Overview
Corded and rated at 1550 watts, the Metabo WEV15-125 HT angle grinder spins to 9600 RPM and weighs 6.5 pounds, built for sustained metalwork rather than light touch ups.
The 125 in the model name lines up with a roughly 5 inch, 125mm disc size, and the 1550 watt motor is a substantial figure for that disc class, suggesting a grinder built for sustained cutting and grinding rather than occasional touch up work. Corded power avoids battery runtime limits on longer jobs.
- 1550 watt corded motor
- 9600 RPM top speed
- 6.5 pound weight
Who it's for
Suits tradespeople and serious DIYers doing metal grinding, cutting or surface prep where sustained power matters. Anyone wanting a light, cordless grinder for occasional small tasks will find this heavier and tethered to a cord.
Pros and cons
- High 1550 watt motor for sustained work
- 9600 RPM top speed
- Corded power avoids battery runtime limits
- 6.5 pounds is heavier than compact cordless options
- Corded design limits mobility
Performance notes
The 1550 watt motor and 9600 RPM top speed give this grinder more sustained cutting power than lighter duty models in the same disc size, while the corded design avoids the runtime and power tapering that battery grinders can show under load. At 6.5 pounds and 12.5 inches long it has enough heft for stability during extended grinding but requires two handed control.
