Overview
A 1500 watt motor anchors the Metabo 600464420, a corded angle grinder running up to 9600 RPM on 120 volts and weighing 5.7 pounds. Built for cutting, grinding and surface prep work that needs sustained power rather than battery runtime.
A 1500 watt motor and 9600 RPM top speed put this toward the higher-power end of angle grinders, output suited to metal fabrication and cutting rather than light touch-up work. Being corded trades battery limits for uninterrupted runtime, at the cost of needing an outlet nearby.
- 1500 watt motor
- 9600 RPM
- 120 volt corded
- 5.7 pounds
Who it's for
Tradespeople and serious DIYers doing metal fabrication or heavy grinding are the target buyer. Someone who only needs occasional light sanding or polishing would find it overkill.
Pros and cons
- 1500 watt motor for heavy-duty grinding
- 9600 RPM top speed
- Corded for sustained runtime
- Corded design limits mobility away from an outlet
- 5.7 lbs is heavier than compact cordless grinders
Performance notes
The 1500 watt motor drives the disc up to 9600 RPM, output aimed at cutting through metal and heavy material removal rather than delicate finishing. Being corded means that speed holds steady for as long as the tool runs, without the power taper some batteries show late in a charge.
