Overview
A retractable blade tucks into the handle of this Salvimar knife, which ships with a sheath for the leg or forearm. The tanto tip and serrated edge are shaped for cutting line, and the handle has an ergonomic grip.
Its small footprint suits free diving and spearfishing, where drag and snag risk matter. Stainless parts cope with salt water when rinsed after use. The limitation is size, since a short blade does little on thick rope or large tasks.
Who it's for
A snorkeler or spearfisher who carries one backup cutter will like how little room it takes. Anyone needing a full-length knife for work tasks, or a left-hand-specific mount, should read the listing before buying.
Pros and cons
- Compact size suits free diving
- Retractable blade for safer handling
- Serrated edge cuts line
- Blade length not listed on its own
- Hand wash only care
- Short blade limits heavy tasks
- Sheath mounting details not listed
Performance notes
The serrated edge grips line and bites into fibers on a pull stroke, while the tanto point resists tip breakage. A stainless blade resists corrosion but still needs a fresh-water rinse after salt exposure. Retraction protects hands and the suit during entry and exit.
