Overview
A weight-forward floating fly line from Scientific Anglers built with a braided multifilament core and a front-weighted MPX taper, designed for fast-loading casts on freshwater trout rods. Includes a welded front loop for quick leader changes.
Feedback gets more mixed on heavier weights, where at least one owner found the line felt heavy on false casts with a 6 weight rod.
- Weight-forward floating taper
- Braided multifilament core
- Welded front loop
- Printed line weight marking
Who it's for
Trout anglers fishing freshwater floating setups who want one versatile line for dry flies, nymphs and small streamers across varying cast distances. Less suited to anglers who want maximum shooting distance on heavier rod weights.
Pros and cons
- Loads fast-action rods quickly for short casts
- Welded front loop speeds up leader changes
- Versatile across dry fly, nymph and streamer work
- May shoot less far than some competing lines on certain setups
- Can feel heavy during false casting on heavier rod weights
Performance notes
The front-weighted taper is designed to load fast-action rods quickly and turn over dry flies, nymphs and small streamers, though one reviewer felt the taper added noticeable weight during false casting on a 6 weight rod.
