Overview

The Milwaukee 2897-22 is a cordless, battery powered tool from Milwaukee's specialty tool line, sold in the brand's -22 kit configuration that typically bundles two batteries and a charger. It runs at 2000 RPM and draws up to 5 amps, with a kit weight of 16.23 pounds.

Milwaukee files this one under its Specialties category rather than a mainstream drill or driver line, and the listing data does not spell out the exact task it is built for beyond power source and speed. What is clear is the kit format: the -22 suffix in Milwaukee's naming almost always means the tool ships with two batteries and a charger rather than bare. Buyers should confirm the specific application against the listing photos before ordering, since the spec sheet alone does not name the tool type.

Who it's for

This suits an owner already invested in Milwaukee's M18 battery platform who wants a specialty attachment or tool without buying a separate charger and batteries. It is not the right pick for someone starting a tool collection from zero, since the -22 kit price reflects battery and charger inclusion.

Pros and cons

Pros

Ships as a complete -22 kit with batteries and charger
Cordless operation for use away from outlets
Fits into the Milwaukee M18 battery ecosystem

Cons

Listing data does not name the specific tool function
16.23 pound kit weight is heavier than a bare tool

Performance notes

Running on battery power at 2000 RPM with a 5 amp draw rating, the tool is built for a cordless task rather than continuous heavy duty grinding or cutting. The 16.23 pound kit weight includes the batteries and charger that ship in a -22 bundle, so the bare tool itself is lighter than that figure suggests.
