A youth soccer shin guard built into a sock, with a hard shell that slips inside for protection. It has no closure of its own, so fit depends on the sock sitting snug.

Overview
Slipping a hard shell into the sock sleeve, a young player puts on this adidas guard like a regular sock. The listing says the shell protects against tackles, and it has no straps or closure.
The reason to buy is a combination set that is quick to put on and has nothing to tie. A shell provides the protection. The limitation is the lack of a closure and of listed ankle protection, and only medium is shown here.
Who it's for
Younger players who dislike taping or strapping guards will like the slip-in design. Older players, those needing ankle protection or players between sizes should check the size and brand notes.
Pros and cons
- Sock design needs no straps
- Hard shell protects the shin
- Quick to put on
- Light for a guard
- No closure to adjust fit
- Only medium listed
- Ankle protection not mentioned
- Shell dimensions not listed
Performance notes
A hard outer shell spreads the force of a kick across the shin, and the sock holds the shell in place. A sock-style guard relies on a snug fit, since there are no straps to tighten. Size matters more than usual because nothing adjusts.
