Overview
The Astro 78301 is a compact wrench measuring 4.5 inches long and sized for 17 millimeter fasteners. At about 0.21 kilograms, roughly 7 ounces, it's built for tight clearance work rather than high torque jobs.
A 4.5 inch length paired with a 17mm capacity points to a specialty wrench meant for reaching fasteners in tight spaces, such as under a dashboard or near a fuel line, rather than a general purpose combination wrench. Astro Pneumatic is known for this kind of specialty automotive hand tool.
- 4.5 inch overall length
- Sized for 17mm fasteners
- About 0.21 kg (7 oz) weight
Who it's for
Fits mechanics and DIYers who need to reach a 17mm fastener in a confined space where a standard length wrench won't fit. Not a fit for anyone needing high leverage on a stubborn, over torqued bolt.
Pros and cons
- Compact 4.5 in length reaches tight spots
- Light at about 0.21 kg
- Short length limits leverage for stubborn bolts
- Fixed to a single 17mm fastener size
Performance notes
The short 4.5 inch length trades leverage for reach, letting it access fasteners that a full length wrench can't. Its light weight of about 0.21 kilograms and fixed 17mm capacity mean it's built for a specific fastener size rather than general use.
