Overview
The BLACK+DECKER BDECS300C is a corded electric saw built around a 5300 RPM motor and a high speed steel blade, with a 4 inch cutting capacity in a compact 7 pound body measuring about 14 by 9.9 by 8 inches.
Category listings sometimes group compact saws with heavier circular saws, but the numbers here point to a lightweight, corded tool meant for small cuts rather than continuous framing work. Its 120 volt corded design trades battery-swap convenience for steady, uninterrupted power.
- 5300 RPM motor
- 4 inch cutting capacity
- High speed steel blade
- 7 pound compact body
Who it's for
Fits homeowners and DIYers who need occasional straight cuts in trim, plywood or similar stock up to 4 inches thick. Tradespeople cutting dimensional lumber all day will likely outgrow its capacity.
Pros and cons
- Lightweight at 7 pounds for a corded saw
- Constant power with no battery to charge
- Compact enough for tight work areas
- Corded design limits reach without an extension cord
- 4 inch capacity rules out thick dimensional lumber
Performance notes
The 5300 RPM motor drives a high speed steel blade rated for a 4 inch cutting capacity, enough for plywood, trim and similar thin to mid thickness stock. Being corded, it draws power directly from a 120 volt outlet rather than a battery, so output stays constant cut after cut but the work area is tethered to an outlet and extension cord.
