Overview
Strapping on with adjustable straps and hook and loop closures, these youth football shoulder pads use a foam, nylon and polyester build. The extended body length adds coverage down the torso, according to the seller.
Schutt describes a lightweight, all purpose design for a youth athlete after varsity style protection, with extra torso coverage as the standout. Fit is the open question, because the size is named X-Large with no measurements behind it.
Who it's for
A youth player who wants general all purpose protection rather than a specialist cut. Adult players, or families who need a published size chart, should check another listing.
Pros and cons
- Extended body length
- Lightweight all purpose design
- Hook and loop closure
- Size chart not listed
- Youth sizing only
- No position specific cut mentioned
Performance notes
Impact protection comes from the foam padding across the shoulders and chest. Snug strap adjustment stops the pads shifting during contact, so fit matters as much as the padding itself.

Frequently asked questions
Do the Schutt Y-Flex shoulder pads fit adult players?
The listing marks them as youth, so an adult should not assume the X-Large fits. No chest or height range is given.
Are the Schutt shoulder pad straps adjustable?
Yes. The strap type is adjustable and the closure is hook and loop.
What does the extended body length do?
The seller says the longer body adds extra protection, but the listing gives no measurement for how much longer it runs.
