More from this brandAll Leupold rifle scopesOverview
A premium 3-15x56mm hunting riflescope from Leupold built around the CDS-ZL2 elevation system and an illuminated FireDot Duplex reticle, aimed at long-range big game hunters who want a laser-matched drop dial.
The CDS-ZL2 turret can be custom ordered to match a specific load's ballistics, and its ZeroLock push-button prevents the dial from moving accidentally in the field. Motion Sensor Technology shuts the illuminated reticle off after five minutes of no movement and reactivates it instantly, extending battery life without the shooter managing the setting manually.
- 3-15x56mm magnification with illuminated FireDot Duplex reticle
- CDS-ZL2 elevation dial with ZeroLock accidental-movement protection
- Waterproof, fogproof and shockproof matte finish construction
- Motion Sensor Technology auto-dims illumination after 5 minutes idle
Who it's for
Suited to hunters who want to dial for drop rather than hold over, and who value glass clarity in low light at dawn or dusk. Less suited to shooters who prefer a simple fixed duplex reticle without the added step of ordering a custom CDS dial.
Pros and cons
- CDS-ZL2 dial can be custom matched to a specific ballistic load
- Motion Sensor Technology extends illuminated reticle battery life
- Side focus parallax adjustment usable from various shooting positions
- Made, machined and assembled in the USA
- Custom CDS dial requires ordering separately for a specific rifle and load
Performance notes
The scope reportedly tracks true and returns to zero after dialing, and the FireDot reticle brightness adjusts from very dim to visible even in direct sunlight.
