Overview
Mounting these UniFi mesh access points on poles or walls spreads Wi-Fi across large outdoor areas, with each unit relaying to the next over mesh. Adjustable omni antennas and quick mounts suit temporary sites like festivals.
Multi-hop mesh covers wide spaces with minimal wiring, and units are pen sized for discreet installs. Configuration and management follow UniFi practice, which suits installers more than casual home users.
Who it's for
Network installers, event crews and property managers deploying outdoor coverage. Families wanting simple indoor Wi-Fi should choose a consumer mesh system.
Pros and cons
- Five units in one pack
- Indoor and outdoor use
- Flexible PoE power
- Older Wi-Fi standard
- Professional setup required
- Single Ethernet port per unit
Performance notes
Throughput drops with each mesh hop, so placing units with clear line of sight preserves speed. Omni antennas spread signal in all directions, while optional five gigahertz omni antennas can focus high density coverage. PoE powering simplifies outdoor installs.
