Overview
Movie night hosts get fresh popcorn from loose kernels without a stovetop pot, as hot air circulates through the heating chamber and pops them. A measuring cup comes with it and also holds butter for flavoring.
Hot air does the popping, so a batch comes together in minutes with little fuss, and a light machine stores easily. Dash leaves out wattage, dimensions and popping time, which makes it hard to judge counter space or speed before it arrives.
Who it's for
Households that want a light popper to pull out of a cupboard for movie night get a simple hot air machine. Fans of oil popped or caramel coated corn should choose a stirring kettle machine.
Pros and cons
- Light enough to store in a cupboard
- Large batch capacity
- Measuring cup doubles for butter
- Aluminum heating chamber
- Wattage and dimensions not listed
- Single purpose appliance, popcorn only
Performance notes
Hot air moving through the heating chamber heats kernels until the moisture inside them bursts the hull. Results depend on fresh kernels and measuring the right amount so air can circulate freely. Old, dried kernels leave more unpopped pieces at the bottom.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Dash hot air popcorn popper need any setup?
The box lists the popper and its manual. It is a light countertop appliance, so setup amounts to unpacking it and following the manual.
Can I add butter with the Dash popcorn popper?
Yes. Dash says to place a tablespoon of butter in the measuring cup for a creamier flavor.
Is the Dash popcorn machine a cart or kettle style popper?
No. It is a small hot air popcorn popper, not a cart or an oil kettle machine.
