Overview
VMC's WNK series is a weedless neko hook built for wacky-rigging soft plastic worms through cover. This pack of five comes in size #1/0 with a black nickel finish and weighs about 0.03 pounds total, making it a light terminal tackle item for finesse bass presentations.
Neko rigging pairs a nose-hooked worm with a nail weight in the tail, and this hook's weed guard lets anglers work it through grass and brush without constant snagging. At #1/0 it suits smaller to mid-size soft plastics rather than bulky creature baits.
- #1/0 size
- Black nickel finish
- Pack of 5
- Built for weedless neko rigging
Who it's for
Bass anglers who fish neko or wacky rigs in weedy or brushy water. Not aimed at anglers targeting large saltwater species or those needing a heavier gauge hook for big swimbaits.
Pros and cons
- Weed guard reduces snags in cover
- Sold in a 5-pack for multiple rigs
- Light enough for finesse presentations
- Size #1/0 limits it to smaller soft plastics
Performance notes
The weed guard is the functional core of this hook, deflecting off vegetation and wood so the point does not catch until a fish strikes. The black nickel finish resists corrosion better than plain bronze in freshwater use.
