Overview
The Graco 1992117 is a rear-facing car seat with an alloy steel frame, installed through the vehicle's Latch anchors. It measures about 20 inches deep, 21.5 inches wide, and 24 inches tall, and weighs 24 pounds.
Its listed 120 pound weight capacity is unusually high for a rear-facing seat, since most rear-facing models top out well below that figure. Families relying on this number to plan long-term use should confirm exact weight and height limits directly with Graco, since the listing does not break down age or height thresholds.
- Rear-facing orientation
- 120 pound listed capacity
- Latch installation
- Alloy steel frame material
Who it's for
Parents who want to keep a child rear-facing for as long as possible and are willing to install a heavier, steel framed seat that stays in the vehicle.
Pros and cons
- Steel reinforced frame
- Heavier at 24 pounds before a child is added
- Weight capacity figure is unusually high for rear-facing and worth confirming
- No recline angle detail listed
Performance notes
The alloy steel frame adds structure and weight compared to an all plastic shell, and Latch is the only installation method listed.
