Roku Express+ 3910RW Streaming Player

Overview

Roku's 8541547533 is a compact streaming player that connects over HDMI and streams Hulu, Netflix, Vudu and other apps at up to 1080p Full HD, finished here in purple rather than the brand's usual black.

Roku's device lineup runs its own streaming operating system, so search, channel setup and remote pairing work the same way they do across the brand's other players. The 1080p ceiling puts this model below Roku's 4K sticks, which matters if the connected TV can display higher resolution. HDMI is the only connection listed, so an older television without that port will need a separate adapter.

• 1080p Full HD output
• HDMI connection
• Compatible with Hulu, Netflix, Vudu
• Purple color finish

Who it's for

Fits a household adding a smart streaming layer to a TV that already tops out at 1080p. Also works as a second player for a bedroom or guest room set where 4K is not a priority.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Streaming quality on any Roku player depends mostly on home Wi-Fi and the app in use rather than the box itself, and this model caps output at 1080p Full HD regardless of network speed. It connects over HDMI and plugs directly into the TV port the way Roku sticks typically do. The listed apps confirm compatibility with Hulu, Netflix and Vudu.
